BELIEVING that Aksyon Demokratiko president Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso uses social media to his advantage, the Azurin Team of San Fabian Pangasinan said, they will “copy” the presidential aspirant’s strategy.
Dir. Juvenal B. Azurin, who recently resigned from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) after more than a decade as regional director, said his Azurin Team should not be considered politicians but “public servants.” He is running as San Fabian’s mayor under Aksyon Demokratiko party. They want to implement positive change, Azurin stressed.
He said they want to have San Fabian present a “new face” based on his supposed youthfulness at the age of 42. He was also a former soldier, marine and a law enforcement officer, being a 2000 Philippine Military Academy (PMA) graduate. The mayoralty bet also plans to build a hospital and local health units for the town.
The team is running sans a vice mayor “for personal reason,” according to Azurin.
Azurin’s team presented a 10-point agenda, following their filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC) on Thursday, Oct. 7. Those running for councilors are Mariz Aspurias Songcuan, a former beauty queen, who represented the country in the Mrs. World pageant in China in 2017. She is batting for ‘food for the hungry’ and tourism promotion. Marco Nabua Natividad, an incumbent Bgy. Kagawad, who wants to serve San Fabian honestly, sincerely with all his heart.
Another councilor aspirant is Hope Bernardo Aquino, a registered nurse and a former town councilor, a former population officer of San Fabian, who calls to improve the delivery of family health and welfare. Meanwhile, Junjun Q. Tamayo, a former member of Philippine Boxing Team, who represented the country in an international competition, said he wants to develop athletes and present sports program.
Raul Ariel Abaoag , a civil engineering graduate , said he wants to support Azurin in his infrastructure and development projects; Judith Nabua Ubaldo, a private school administrator and a UP graduate of Agricultural Economics, said they don’t promise anything but would do their best because they love their municipality. Topping her advocacies is to deliver basic education, especially for children and move for the protection of the environment.
Councilor aspirant Alejandro P. Catalan main advocacy is to help those who want to put up new businesses. Those small-time businessmen can be supported, he said. Currently, he is the branch manager of Isuzu Urdaneta. He bats for the cityhood of San Fabian.
Another candidate is Alejo Ringor who wants to instill among the youths true discipline and call on them to pray.
