With the aim to enrich the Research and Development Ecosystem in the region, the Department of Science and Technology Region 02 (DOST-RO2) funded the Development of Direct-On-Line and Wye Delta Motor Starter Circuit Trainer for the Engineering Department of the University of Cagayan Valley.

Through a virtual Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony, DOST-RO2 Regional Director Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang officially awarded Php 254,000.00 to Dr. Esther Susan Perez-Mari, University President for the development of electric motor starter.

The said technology will be specifically used for the mechanical and maritime engineering, the banner programs of UCV.

With this Dir. Mabborang looks forward to more active partnership with the maritime lead in region 02 in shaping the R&D ecosystem within their offered courses.

Delighted with this new project, the former instructor of UCV, now S&T leader in the region vowed more assistance in the said private university.

“This might be small, but DOST will open its door, windows, and even ceilings for R&D. Hindi man naming mapondohan lahat agad, i-identify niyo kung ano ang priority, tuluy-tuloy naman ang binibigay na suporta ng sentral sa’tin”, the director assured.

Overwhelmed with the assistance of DOST-RO2, University President Dr. Perez-Mari, guaranteed that this project will indeed benefit their engineering students, hence, will make their institution even greater than what they are now.

This Grant-In-Aid project does not only aim to provide assistance to the said institution but also to create Intellectual Property Rights registrations in support to its EINSTEIN 1K project. (DOST R2)
