PNP chief reshuffles 8 more top police officials

MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Camilo CascolanAnother has reshuffled eight more senior police officials in the latest round of his reorganization of his command.

Cascolan designated Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) chief Maj. Gen. Dionardo Carlos to head the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Southern Luzon (DIPO-SL).

He named Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, formerly director of the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon), to take over Carlos’ DPCR position. Taking over Sermonia’s post is Brig. Gen. Valeriano from the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD).

Also reshuffled were Brig. Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., head of the Directorate for Intelligence (DI), who has been assigned to head the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), replacing Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee, who was designated as the new DHRDD chief.

Replacing Acorda as DI chief is Brig. Gen. Adoldo Samala Jr., former Directorate for Plans (DPL) head whose post goes to former Highway Patrol Group chief Brig. Gen. Eliseo dela Cruz. Taking over the HPG is Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, from the Office of the Chief PNP. The latest reshuffle takes effect Wednesday.

This is the sixth reshuffle of police officials to various units implemented by Cascolan since he assumed as the country’s top cop last month.
