MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has reported that the number of overseas Filipinos who have been infected by the Covid-19 virus has hit 10,086.
In its latest case bulletin, the DFA said there were actually no new fatalities, and 46 of them were recorded as new recoveries in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. The figure brings the total number of recoveries to 6,174 while the death toll remains at 755. Some 3,157 of the infected overseas Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.
“To date, the Middle East remains as the region with the most number of confirmed Covid-19 cases, recoveries, under treatment, and fatalities among our nationals. Asia and the Pacific continue to have the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of recoveries where the Americas rank lowest with only 454 reported recoveries,” the DFA said.
